Spend a weekend exploring the materials, tools, and techniques used in collage and assemblage as you create an artwork that’s uniquely yours. The workshop, ideal for both nonartists and those with experience, is a great way to spark your creativity in two forms that offer wide possibilities for inventive expression.

Exploring Abstraction
8-Session Afternoon Course

This is a process-oriented class with an emphasis on visual way of thinking. Explore the basis of abstraction by studying color, line, shape and composition and learn how our emotions are influenced by the interplay of these visual elements.

Mixed-Media in the Style of Romare Bearden
3-Session Daytime Course

Romare Bearden (1911-1988) worked in many mediums from oil and watercolor to various forms of printmaking. After an illustrated lecture on his work, students try their hand creating Bearden-inspired mixed-media compositions.
