This photography course is designed as a follow-up to Introduction to Studio Portraiture and explores the creative lighting controls of the studio. Classes focus on topics including posing and lighting couples and groups, accent lighting, and dramatic color effects using theatrical gels.
The class examine the styles of well-known photographers and goes on location to create an environmental studio portrait. A Flickr site will be created for students to showcase their images. Students work in the format of their choice as they develop a personal portfolio. At the first session, the instructor discusses a list of materials that each student should bring to class. Models' fees are included in tuition.
Students should have taken Introduction to Studio Portraiture or have knowledge of camera operation, portrait posing, and lighting. Point-and-shoot cameras are not appropriate for this course.
