If you love patterning, color, texture, and plenty of shine, this introduction to the ancient art of mosaics—with a contemporary twist—is the perfect workshop for you. Participants make beautiful 12-by-20-inch mosaic tapestries for interior display from a wide variety of materials.

Create your original designs from a generous selection that includes glass and ceramic tiles, shiny glass, ball chain, costume jewelry, and beads (included in the supply fee). Participants may supplement the offerings with items such as Swarovski crystals, rhinestone chain, iridescent beads, millefiori, sequined trims, and anything that sparks the imagination.

Pre-colored thin-set mortar is used to adhere tesserae to a concrete setting bed, and the finished tapestries are textural and remain ungrouted. No experience is necessary to participate.
