Jodi Picoult

Jodi Picoult, the best-selling author of 25 novels, is one of the most popular fiction writers today, but that doesn’t mean her books are easy reads. Picoult has addressed some tough topics in her novels, including the death penalty, stem-cell research, child abuse, and racial prejudice among others.

She prepares for each book with extensive research, sometimes investigating medical, scientific, and ethical issues. Her newest novel, A Spark of Light, counts backward through the hours of a standoff at a women’s reproductive health services clinic when a gunman bursts in and opens fire, taking all inside hostage.

Join Picoult as she discusses her career, the sources of her storyline inspirations, her writing process, and why the issues she tackles in A Spark of Light (How do we balance the rights of pregnant women with the rights of the unborn they carry? What does it mean to be a good parent?) spoke to her as a writer. Picoult will be joined in conversation by Senator Maggie Hassan.

The ticket price includes a pre-signed copy of A Spark of Light.

This event does not include a book signing, and the author will not be personalizing copies of the book. In lieu of personalization, a professional photographer will be on-site to capture a personal meet-and-greet moment for each fan.
