To hold a book in your hand is to feel a world of possibility, to touch a work of art, and to access an intimate communication between the maker and the reader. The modern book format is the case-bound book—a book created from two separate pieces (the textblock and the case) joined together. This class teaches the skills to create a case- bound book from scratch. Learn how to create individual signatures of a book and sew it into a completed textblock, which will be covered with a one-of-a-kind cloth or paper cover.

Shared tools and some supplies are provided.
