Fallingwater, the dramatic museum house in western Pennsylvania designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in his distinctive organic style, is the perfect destination for a late-winter visit, as bare trees and mountain snow throw the house’s spectacular  design and setting into high relief.

As we mark the 150th anniversary of Wright’s birth, a special in-depth tour offers an opportunity to appreciate this masterwork anew. During the 2-hour visit, museum guides interpret Fallingwater in many contexts, covering the house’s history, architecture, and its relationship with the surrounding landscape. Participants are offered access to secondary spaces not available to regular visitors, and interior photography is permitted (for personal use).

Urban historian Bill Keene leads the tour and discusses the architectural philosophy and pioneering contributions of Wright, whose original and definitive works are now appreciated and studied even more than during his lifetime.

A rest stop is made en route in Cumberland for lunch, and a box supper is provided for the return trip home.

Some parts of Fallingwater are not accessible to visitors with disabilities.

Fringe stop at about 9:55 a.m.
